the team usa bandwagon is begining to fill after usa's impressive shlacking of the titans. many people were skepticle of team usa player dedication, but were relived to see a bench full of players for saturdays contest and they also thought it helped having a goalie on hand to backup #66 . usa forwards turned in a very impressive performance, they played both ends of the ice very hard not missing any oppertunites to blow pucks past the bewildered netminder who never realy got his bearing back after being torched by #66 just seconds in to the game. the down side to the game was defense witch seamed to be stuck in mud despite all the back checking help.(not you larry or mike but everyone else) any way team usa still has there backs to the wall needing awin on tuesday nite to advance there is talk of usa putting together a new line and moving a high octane forward back to the blue line hoping he can anchor things down

Bringing a 65 year old out of retirement is our game plan for the new line. That should easily take the place of our high octane forward moving to defense.

Team USA repeats as Body Zone Champions.
It seemed that team USA had the will to win this season as they rolled through the tournament despite being shorthanded and forced to bringsome veterans out of retirement. For most of the tourny, a number of players were living it up and soaking in the sun in Mexico while the remaining players fought hard knocking off such forces as the Titans, Crunch, and finally the Phantoms in the Finals with a score of 7-4. Team USA signed Troy Hertzler out of retirement to a 5 game contract as well as picking up Kurt Good and Jim Hertzler off waivers for a few games.
Having 3 solid lines of forwards and 3 defensive lines made for a well-oiled machine and Team USA appeared to hardly break a sweat in their glorious victory. The scoring started out early as young Jesse Aungst made a beyond-his-years move around the defenders and snapped a wrist shot in the top of the net for the early lead. The turning point in the game came when Mitch Hertzler made some remarkable moves up the ice and though missed the net on a howitzer of a shot, the goalie lost his edge and twisted his knee. From that point forward, Shawn was not the same in goal. An example was the simple poke of the puck goal as the goalie was attempting to cover by the other Aungst brother, Jerad. Other goals came from Ray Horning with 2, Jesse Aunsgt added another, and Troy Hertzler had an easy slam dunk scored on probably the pass of the year from the corner. JR Weiler added 3 assists for another consistent performance. He is the team's Mike Richards.
There was fiestiness to this game as was shown by a large scrum in front on the Team USA net when goalie Scotty defended his crease by throwing haymakers at the overely aggresive Phantom forward that crashed his net. After the play calmed down, fans reported hearing the phrase, "they dont call me tough for nothin," from the Team USA goalie who is not afraid to mix it up with any and all comers. Also, Kurt Good was seen throwing his weight around as he received a penalty with only a few minutes left in the game. The reffing was rock solid and they even invented a few new ways to call penalties by calling coincidental double minors penalties that were separate so they wernt coincidental even though they were at the same time by opposite teams for the same amount. Genious. When Team USA questioned the refs, a simple comback of "you cant triple stamp a double stamp" put everything into perspective.
Next for the Team USA/Farmer Boy will be to try and finish the Lancaster RHL league off on Sunday night against Infinity GMAC. FB is up 2-0 and only needs a win for the championship. Fans are encouraged to wear red and blue in support of their team.
3 stars for the game:
Jesse Aunsgt - 1st star Ray Horning - 2nd star Jerad Aungst - 3rd star
Way to show up RJJ line!
Note: Team USA may not have actually deserved this win as they were caught playing some illegal players such as Derrick Martin and Jesse Weiler who also play for the Nashville Predators of the NHL.
